This project aims to transform the streets into colourful public spaces through vibrant street art, with the aim to make people feel safer and part of the public space. It’s also an example of inclusive urban transformation where as many residents as possible participate. By inviting artists from all over Nairobi the project bridges the gap between the thriving art scene in the city and many of its low-income citizens. In addition, Talking Walls aims to open up a community dialogue on the role of arts as a tool for positive social transformation, as well as identifying cultural treasures among the youth in the community.
