Case Study – Mass Media (TV) Interview with Amanda Ngabirano about cycling in Kampala

This  is an interview with Amanda Ngabirano, a campaigner for cycling in Uganda, on popular TV station Celeb Select, Sanyu FM. Sanyu FM is the leading private radio station in East and Central Africa (their broadcasting footprint is a 100 KM radius around Kampala and Mbale) and their popular ‘Celeb Select’ segment features interviews with prominent people from all aspects of Ugandan life. In this interview, Amanda discusses issues and positives surrounding sustainable transport in her city as well as urban planning in Uganda. The interview is also uploaded onto Youtube and is a great example of using a popular media platform to promote a serious issue.

Transport issues addressed – Public transport (matatus), road safety for pedestrians, road safety for passengers, road safety for car drivers, traffic, air quality, drink driving.
