By Caroline Knowles British Academy Cities & Infrastructure Programme Director
Caroline talks about the transport situation in Kampala and how the lack of infrastructure and its chaotic operation hampers daily life – from commuting, access, delivery etc. and how this also poses a great danger to people’s safety. She mentions that improvement is on the horizon with the Non-Motorised Transport route along Namirembe Road which is being developed by Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA). She highlights how the i-CMiiST team’s intervention has led to greater public involvement and understanding about the planned development.
